The Train Ride

Then the excitement mounted, and we descended to the train platform below the airport. The train hurtled out into the night (it was dark at this point), and in the shadows we could make out trees, and houses, gas stations, and quite a bit of neon advertising here and there along the roadside. The train passed through a number of tunnels, inside of which was a most bizarre and, shall we say, trippy, sight indeed! On the tunnel walls there were arrays of small light bulbs which made up a picture. Each picture was slightly different from the next, and thus, as the train sped along, animation was created. Small glowing elfin creatures were dancing amongst flowers with smiley faces on them. There was some Japanese lettering floating about as well, so it must have been an advertisement. How hysterical!
